If you are currently shopping for a cedar closet, or you have already installed cedar closet liners, you need to bear in mind that these closets need a little TLC from time to time.

Cedar closets are popular for their appearance, aroma and moth-repelling qualities. All three of these features diminish over time, but you can easily keep that from happening by following these steps.

First, remove everything from the closet and give the cedar surface a quick sanding.

Second, wipe the surface with a clean, dry rag and vacuum the floor.

Third, apply a coat of cedar oil to the surface with a clean, soft cloth.

Allow the oiled surface to dry for a day before putting clothes back in.
